The site of the proposed building is now characterised by the contrast of the original eclectic architecture and the brutal expression of the prefabricated houses. The design of the frontage is an attempt to calm the situation. It adopts the traditional lapidary form of the wall and the rhythm of the window openings and enlivens it in the directions of the interior of the residential part of the area with loggias, and in the direction of the main street it creates the possibility of commercial activities in the parterre.
The alternation of colour shades and composition of the facades, the building is loosely related to the original subdivision into individual apartment buildings. The location of the block, defined by the busy North Street, close to the public transport bus stop, predetermines the use of the ground floor for trade and services.
The proposed traditional form of the house block creates an enclosed internal courtyard space. The choice of tree species forms a harmonious unit with the colour scheme of the frontage.
