The building stands in a prominent location at the entrance to the historic centre of the city by the bridge over the Elbe River.
The simple design and traditional materials try to complement the historic surroundings in a non-violent way.
The facades are plastered and wooden windows are placed in the outer face of the facade.
The interior uses plum veneer, copper-clad windows and milk glass.
On the floor is green terrazzo, which at the time of construction was not as attractive and used as it is today.
